The challenge

To transport wheelchair users from reception area up to the pool facilities, in a busy leisure centre, with a high specification platform lift.

To remove the existing lift, which had an insufficient platform area, and did not comply with new Part M.

The SSL solution

Liasing with South Lanarkshire Councils architects and structural engineers, a larger opening was created to allow our high specification A300 hydraulic platform lift with automatic centre opening doors.

Working with Elim construction and South Lanarkshire Council architects, a final specification for the lift was agreed.

The existing lift was removed by SSL Access, Elim demolished the shaft and a new floor opening created.
